Our expertise spans consumer electronics, computer architecture, full-stack and embedded software development, control systems, biotechnology, industrial automation, and engineering analysis.
We design low-voltage power distribution and Instrumentation & Control systems for water & wastewater facilities, streetscapes, parks, buildings, and solar installations. We also perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Studies.
Will Kassebaum has over 37 years of experience in the private and government sectors, with extensive expertise in systems engineering, computer engineering (hardware and software), executive management, program management, and entrepreneurship.
Currently serving as Vice President at Sims-Durkin Associates Engineering Company, Will leads electrical engineering projects for buildings, solar installations, and water & wastewater facilities. He continues as President & CEO of Kassebaum Engineering LLC, a consulting firm he founded in 1997.
Will has been the founding CEO of several Indianapolis technology companies, including Algaeon Inc., a biotechnology startup focused on microalgae research. His pioneering work at the Naval Air Warfare Center weapons division earned his team the prestigious "Heroes Of Government Reinvention" award, presented by the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Vice President of the United States.
At Escient, Will led software engineering teams that developed award-winning consumer electronics products. His technical expertise spans embedded systems, AI/ML systems, network architecture, industrial I&C, power distribution design, vector databases, and full-stack applications.

Dr. John Kassebaum is an engineering technologist with 29 years of experience in research, analysis, and creative synthesis of new ideas. He holds a PhD from Purdue University in Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana.
Currently serving as Senior Staff Electrical Engineer at Sims-Durkin Associates Engineering Company, John focuses on electrical power systems design, short circuit and arc flash studies, and power systems analysis. He continues as Chief Engineer Partner at Kassebaum Engineering LLC, which he co-founded in 1997.
John's career spans successful product deliveries across military systems, consumer electronics, industrial automation, and biotechnology. His specialties include system and software architecture, IIoT development, authentication and security systems, engineering mathematics, technical research, and applications of machine learning and data analytics.
